  • have at least 2 years post-school work experience, this is not a course for early school leavers

  • possess strong English communication and presentation skills

We have two state-of-the-art training facilities located in NSW and our virtual campus. Our headquarters are situated on the beautiful South Coast of NSW, and the Western Sydney Training Centre is in the heart of Western Sydney:

Illawarra – Kiama campus: Level 1, 47 Manning Street, Kiama NSW 2533 – this campus is located in Regional NSW

How is the course delivered?

This course is run in a virtual classroom with an actual teacher and other students. At NTM, there is a combination of virtual classroom training that is scheduled with additional assessments to complete at home or work. You will have 12 months to complete the course.

Do I have to attend every class, and how much work is required for the course?

Yes, as this course is highly demanding in terms of content and assessments, you will need to commit to attending every training session. When deciding to enrol in the course, you should organise your life and work schedule to attend all sessions. If you have work or other commitments, such as being a first responder, health worker, or carer, you must balance your commitments and time management to complete the qualification successfully. You must undertake further research and complete assessments as part of the qualification.

What are the units I am required to complete?

How much is the course? (fee for service)

The BSB40920 Certificate IV in Project Management Practice qualification is available under the NSW Government’s Smart and Skilled funding, for which you may be eligible if you are an Australian or New Zealand citizen or Permanent Resident, live or work in NSW, are over 15 and no longer at school. Prices depend on whether it is your first or subsequent qualification or if you are eligible for a concession fee or exemption. Please note Smart and Skilled funding will be available from 1 July 2024. The fees are:

How interactive and practical is the course?

All course material is included in the price, including electronic resources with all the training and assessment resources. You will have a student Microsoft Account as an NTM student that will give you access to Teams and our Learning Management System for training and assessment.

At NTM, this practical and interactive course provides sufficient time to complete all your assessments. It includes interesting readings and practical assessment work to be completed at home or work. You will undertake written assessments, projects, and case studies related to work-based project management activities.

What are the pathways to further study and university?

How long does the course take?

The amount of training or volume of learning, allocated for the BSB40920 Certificate IV in Project Management Practice qualification is based on the prior experience of each student. Those students with a lot of relevant prior experience may be able to complete the qualification in a shorter time frame. However, those new to training and assessment will often take a longer time frame to complete the qualification. Students should expect a duration of twelve months to meet the requirements of BSB40920 Certificate IV in Project Management Practice, which is consistent with the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) volume of learning indicators for a Certificate IV qualification.

The learning volume for Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is typically six months to two years, or between 600-2400 hours. In addition, you can expect to undertake around 22 hours per week of reading, completing assessments and lesson preparation.
