  1. Demonstrate vocational competency in your proposed training and assessing area, as evidenced by holding vocational education and training (VET) or university qualifications, at least a Certificate III (trade ticket or equivalent) or higher qualification (Certificate IV, Diploma or university degree). The TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is only offered in part-time day mode. We do not recommend undertaking the course through correspondence or online.

What about work placements?

As the TAE40122 Certificate IV Training and Assessment course requires students to conduct three group training sessions, it is almost impossible to complete the qualification online. At NTM, the TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is only available in face-to-face delivery mode, with an actual teacher and other students. Some other providers require students who undertake TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment online to find their own placement to complete the three group deliveries. Undertaking the course with NTM will ensure you have access to a teacher and, most importantly, you will be able to complete your three group deliveries with other students at an accredited training provider.  At NTM, the vocational placement requirements of the TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment are built into the training schedule.

How long does the TAE401122 take?

Workplace training TAEThe amount of training or volume of learning, allocated for the TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment qualification is based on the prior experience of each student. Those students with a lot of relevant prior experience may be able to complete the qualification in a shorter time frame. However, those new to training and assessment will often take a longer time frame to complete the qualification. Students should expect a duration between six (for advanced entry) and twelve months (general entry) to meet the requirements of TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, which is consistent with the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) volume of learning indicators for a Certificate IV qualification.

The learning volume for Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is typically six months to two years, or between 600-2400 hours. At NTM, you will attend 20 sessions of 7 hours per day of face-to-face training over a semester. In addition, you can expect to undertake around 23 hours per week of reading, completing assessments and lesson preparation. Remember that every learner is different, so you may do fewer hours, and some learners will need more time. Depending on your learning, you may complete work quickly or need extra time. For example, if your typing and reading speed is not as fast as other learners, you will spend more time on the course each week. It is vital to stress that the TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is a highly challenging course, with a large amount of content and assessment.
